ROTD I Advertising on tires

ROTD(Rant of the Day) # 1

This will be a continuing series every few days, every day, or even twice or more a day depending on how Im feeling. =]
Now this is one of those odd things that when you see it, you have no choice but to look back and have a thought on it. One of those moments happened on Tuesday when I went to vote at a local grocery.

Now Im ready to pull out onto Brodie Lane, and across the street coming out of the Sonic parking lot is a Yellow Cab van, nothing too special.

I see its rims spinning and look back wondering why they were spinning. Spinners on a van, let alone a Cab van arejust too much. I see in plain view, “Advertise Here 512-555-5555″ and start thinking, how desperateare advertisers that they will advertise on the rims of a yellow cab van.

More in depth, heres a question for all you readers, how many times when youre driving do you look over at someones rims to see an advertisement? Maybe a glance at a billboard once or twice down the road, but the tires on a van is just not an advertising medium.

My feelings of the day, Marketers, it is a bad idea to market using the rims on a van. This is like advertising on clouds, it just makes no sense.

Until next time, there is my rant of the day.
